Basic Shopping
The Haiku Grocery Store and Fukushima, in Haiku center, have a basic assortment of everything.
Three minutes away by car. Haiku center also has a post office, a small pharmacy, a one-doctor clinic, a pizza delivery service, video rentals, etc.
The nearest supermarket is a new, nice Foodland in Pukalani, fifteen minutes by car. An extraordinary health food supermarket, Mana, is in Paia – on Baldwin Avenue 100 yards from the stop light.
https://eastmaui.com/dinepaia.html gives a fairly complete list of establishments in Paia.
Kahului, twenty minutes by car, has:
“Big Box” stores – Costco, KMart, WalMart, Office Max, Home Depot, Lowe’s
A department store – Macy’s
Supermarkets – Safeway, Star Markets, Foodland
Plus Borders, Sports Authority, etc.
Fun Shopping
Small shops for women’s clothes, beachwear, art, souvenirs, etc. are clustered in Makawao and Paia.
See websites: http://www.mauihi.com/mhshopmak.htm for Makawao shops.
Konrad’s Ship Gallery, on the corner in Paia, does a worldwide business in model boats – the windows are like a museum exhibit.
High-End Shopping
Many international luxury houses are represented on the south and west coasts of Maui, but not (yet) on the North Shore.
Snorkeling at Ahihi Reserve combines nicely with a visit to Fendi and Gucci at The Shops at Wailea https://www.theshopsatwailea.com/ , on Maui’s south side.
Snorkeling at Black Rock is close to Louis Vuitton and Tiffany & Co., at Whaler’s Village https://www.whalersvillage.com/en.html on the west side.
Check with Snorkel Bob’s Kihei store (for snorkeling, not shopping). 2411 S Kihei Rd # A2, Kihei 808-879-7449
